In a small and poor village, a local Saint controls the realm of the abyss, making it impossible for dead people to talk to their loved ones who are still alive. Ima, a curious dead child, tries to meet the Saint, so he can let her talk to her beloved grandmother.
Why Are You Image Plus? is a technicolor rendering of the afterlife, seen through the eyes of a dead girl. With an innocent, sweetened and saturated vision, the film follows the attempt of a spiritual connection between the girl and her grandmother, who is still alive. However, the portal between the worlds is gate-kept by a local Saint, preventing communication between the living and their dead. Taken through various creative attempts to subdue the holy authority, we’re watching a mystical comedy that tells of the loneliness and alienation of spirits in the afterlife and their desire to be reunited with their loved ones.
