Do Movies Dream of Electric Sheep?: Films from Berlinale Forum Expanded and Arsenal Archive & Distribution

Do Movies Dream of Electric Sheep? brings together works from the Arsenal collection that share an affinity with dreams and dream logic. They highlight the medium’s ability to evoke dreams and nightmares, for introspection and fabulation. These films dabble in the uncanny, unsettling aspects of cinema, its mysteries and secrets. Darkly humorous at times, foreboding and confounding, hinting at the supernatural and the occult, self-reflexive and self-conscious, the works range from twisted narratives to conceptual miniatures, from animated abstractions to microscopic observation, from found footage to absurdist historical treatise. Sweet dreams! The program was curated by Angelika Ramlow and Uli Ziemons and it is presented in partnership with the Berlinale Forum Expanded and Arsenal – Institute for Film and Video Art. Do Movies Dream of Electric Sheep? has been supported with great generosity by the Goethe Institute in Bucharest.
